In 1987, a year after the death of her son Keith, Marilyn Adams founded Farm Safety 4 Just Kids to educate families about dangers of working and/or living on farms and ranches. Farm Safety 4 Just Kids (www.fs4jk.org) works to increase public awareness and understanding of the hazards to children in rural communities, provides people with resources to make farms and ranches safer, and motivates them to work for change in safety and health issues. The organization sponsors presentations, workshops and community training.  Chapters present school programs, promotional campaigns, family seminars and day camps to teach about safety and health. Farm Safety 4 Just Kids collaborates with government agencies and private organizations concerned with the health and safety of children in all environments. Since 1987, the organization has grown to a network of 137 chapters and 6,200 grassroots volunteers located throughout the United States and Canada.  In 2012 Farm Safety 4 Just Kids will proudly celebrate twenty five years of teaching farm safety to rural children and families.  Click to view Marilyn's story.
