Message from the President

My name is Gary Patterson and I have long been a supporter of the Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village, because of the significant contributions this group makes to our community and children on an ongoing basis.  Without the Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village, 3,000 children annually, and 15,000 annual visitors would not have the access to the safety programming and services provided that they need to effectively prevent child deaths, injuries and disabilities specific to our area.

It’s becoming increasingly difficult for the Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village to continue to provide all of the services that are needed due to increasing costs and the current economic environment.  That’s why I am posting this letter. I feel so strongly about the Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village’s work that I’m reaching out to my friends, family, neighbours and associates to request financial support for the organization.

Any amount you can share will be put to good use, right here in our community.  Your gift will make it possible for the Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village to continue providing nine programs to all children (at risk) in our area FREE of charge.  Without community support these children will not receive this type of safety programming in Chatham-Kent.

Please send your donation to P.O. Box 68, Chatham, Ontario N7M 5K1 OR donate on our easy to use online process.  Just click on the “DONATE NOW” button found on the left margin of this page.  Feel free to call the office for more information about the Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Most sincerely,

Gary Patterson,
Board President,
Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village

Safety Villages are a proven educational tool throughout North America because they involve children in the learning process.

The number of house and electrical fires, traffic collisions and pedestrian injuries, as well as increases in crime and personal safety are ongoing concerns.

It is more important than ever that we provide children with an interactive place where they can learn, experience and remember valuable life saving lessons that they will carry with them into adulthood.

With your support, the Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village is that place.

There’s no better way of teaching than to offer someone a real life experience and the Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village is as real as it gets!

Approximately 3000 children receive core programming offered at the Safety Village every year. Summer day camps and environmental programs for children and youth will also be provided. Other organizations are invited and encouraged to utilize the village to further develop their programs. Overall approximately 10,000 children will have the opportunity to visit the Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village annually.
